Laser eye surgery, or LASIK, reduces or eliminates your need for eyeglasses or contact lenses. The surgery is performed by a lasik doctor who specializes and is board certified in lasik eye surgery.
Since there are several corrections for the eyes, various types of lasik surgery are available. They include:
- Corneal Onlays/Inlays
- Custom Wavefront LASIK
- PRK
- IntraLase
- Epi LASIK
- LASEK
- Presby LASIK
These procedures are not without risk. Post-surgical complications include dry eye after LASIK, light sensitivity, glare and/or haloes, reduced visual acuity, double vision and more.
Note: LASIK is not for everyone. Consult your eye doctor for a screening to find out if you qualify. You can also see if you are a lasik candidate by taking the AllAboutVision.com online evaluation.
